Nora Reda

Nora has loved books and literature for as long as she can remember. Growing up in her native Hungary, she excelled in storytelling and poetry and was encouraged early on to pursue a writer's path. As a young adult, she moved to Canada, studied English composition and creative writing in college, and completed a correspondence program with the Institute of Children's Literature in Connecticut.

Her life journey has followed a winding path—from studies in animal health sciences to completing teacher's college, all while pursuing a career in professional ballroom dancing. But it was yoga that ultimately called her home. Nora's yoga education spans nearly four decades. She became a Transcendental Meditation practitioner at age 19 and was first introduced to physical yoga practice through DVDs and old books she found at garage sales. While carrying her first child, she took prenatal classes and discovered hot yoga through a fellow mom who tipped her off about a studio in their neighbourhood. Her first group class marked her initiation into professional yoga, and she became a certified instructor in 2007.

Since then, Nora has studied with many influential teachers and earned certifications in various yoga styles. While she values the diversity of her physical training, it is the philosophy and spiritual depth of yoga that continues to captivate her most. She is an independent student of yogic thought and subtle anatomy, weaving together scientific insight and contemplative tradition in her teachings.

By marrying her passion for writing with her fascination for yoga's scientific and philosophical backdrop, she is following her calling to educate and uplift students and readers through her growing experience and evolving knowledge. She perceives writing and publishing both as a new opportunity for self-growth and an homage to the vast wisdom of this ancient art—one that has profoundly enriched her life.
